SITE SUPERVISORS

Dear Site Supervisor for Internship Candidates,

As you know, you are working with a Corban University graduate student who is one of your teaching colleagues with an Emergency or Restricted teaching license and fulfilling their student teaching requirements for an Oregon Preliminary Teaching licensure in their own classroom.

The candidate is assigned both site supervisor (yourself) and a university supervisor to provide a full and rich support in this essential time of professional development.

While the candidate may be teaching the full year, a 15-week period will be identified as the internship period during which the university supervisor will observe and support the candidate on a regular basis, and seek to collaborate with you for supervision coordination. The university supervisor will contact you at the beginning of the internship period (if they have not already done so) to review TSPC requirements and Corban expectations for the internship.

The site supervisor’s role includes the following:

  1. Complete all observations and evaluations as required by your district for this teacher.

  2. Complete 2 formal lesson observation reports for Corban, using Corban’s observation form as found in the web-based evaluation system, TK20.

  3. Complete a Corban Dispositions Assessment evaluation form, also in TK20.

  4. Meet with the candidate and university supervisor early or in the middle of the internship to complete the formative evaluation and again near the end of the internship period to go through Corban’s summative evaluation.

You will be emailed a link for direct access into the candidate’s TK20 binder and the forms to be completed. The university supervisor can provide guidance about this process and software as needed.

During this internship the candidate is required to complete a performance assessment for TSPC embedded in the Capstone project for Corban University. This is a significant task for which the university supervisor will provide support. Site supervisors have no specific support or guidance requirements for these tasks, though it is always good to keep them in mind for effective and thorough communication with the candidate and university supervisor.

Thank you again for your support of your intern candidate,
