INTERN MODEL
Dear Corban Internship Candidates,

As you know, you are completing student teaching responsibilities toward an Oregon Preliminary Teaching license in your own classroom rather than in a traditional student teaching setting. This type of student teaching placement is referred to as an internship, and as part of this internship you are assigned a university supervisor and a site supervisor. The site supervisor is most likely your principal or someone else in the building, such as an instructional coach.
Even though you may be teaching the full year, a 15-week period will be identified by you and your supervisors as the official internship period during which your university supervisor will observe and support you on a regular basis, and collaborate with your site supervisor toward the most beneficial observation and evaluation schedule.
Your university supervisor will initiate an introductory meeting with you and your site supervisor to discuss requirements and expectations but a general look is provided below of the responsibilities for each party.
Intern/Candidate:
-
Plan, teach and assess. You are the teacher in the classroom, but you have the guidance and support of both supervisors to make this time in the classroom most beneficial for your professional development.
-
Complete a Capstone Project.
-
Communicate well and often with both supervisors.
Site Supervisor:
-
Complete all observations and evaluations as required by the district for this teacher.
-
Complete 2 formal lesson observation reports for Corban, using Corban’s observation form as found in the web-based evaluation system, TK20.
-
Complete a Corban Dispositions Assessment evaluation form, also in TK20.
-
Meet with the candidate and university supervisor near the end of the internship period to go through Corban’s summative evaluation.
University Supervisor:
-

-
Complete 6 formal Lesson Observation Reports.

Complete a mid-semester, Formative Evaluation of the intern, informed by observations and insights from the site supervisor.
-
Complete a Summative Evaluation of the intern, informed by observations and insights from the site supervisor.
-
Complete a Corban Dispositions Assessment evaluation.
